Tyler Hill Open House – Smiles Were Contagious!

The sun was shining on Tyler Hill as almost 90 families drove down Cochecton Turnpike to join us for our 2010 THC Open House. As cars filled with future campers passed through our front gates, hearts were pumping and smiles were contagious. The air was filled with excitement for what would be an AMAZING day at Tyler Hill!!!

Open House began with an official welcome by Andy and was followed by small group tours around campus. It was hard not to notice that camp was in pristine condition — the grass was freshly cut, renovated buildings had received their last coat of paint, the golf course could have hosted a US Open and the sunshine just added an extra touch of warmth.

Campers and parents alike were wowed by a good ole’ THC barbecue — chicken, burgers, hot dogs, chips, watermelon and those mouthwatering chocolate chip cookies! Chatter among new campers, parents and THC staff cycled from packing, camp bus, bunking, and the end of school.

Next it was time for Andy’s annual “How to be the best camp parent you can be” talk with our new parents, while the campers had a chance to play more camp games and participate in some “get to know you” activities. Everyone was focused on the fact that in exactly THREE WEEKScamp would be starting!!

And then it was over… 🙁   Parents and campers climbed back into their cars for the trek back home and Tyler Hill Camp settled back into a peaceful, quiet state. After all, camp needs its rest to prepare for the SUMMER OF 2010!!!
