Highlights From Indian Summer

IMG_4489While the weather may not have felt like our typical Indian Summer weather and the leaves were not yet falling from the trees, the traditions and fun of our annual Tyler Hill Camp Indian Summer weekend remained strong.

IMG_4159The buses — filled with almost 100 Teens and CIT’s from 2015 — pulled into camp right around noon on Saturday, September 19th and it was as if we had never left!  The hugs and screams of excitement could be heard for miles as campers unloaded the buses to officially begin the fun. After an amazing THC pizza lunch (and many Instagram posts), the boys played a flag football game against the head staff while the girls spent some time in the canteen baking chocolate chip cookies with Bette.

We enjoyed the most delicious barbecue for dinner, Tyler Hill style of course.  For some reason, barbecue at camp always tastes better than it ever does at home!  Once the sun went down, we had an amazing campfire on lower girls side with marshmallows and s’mores, and of course a cake for Brandon Pekale who celebrated his birthday!  We stayed up as late as we could so we could enjoy one last night at THC.

On Sunday morning, we made our way to the dining hall for breakfast and spent the morning reminiscing and hanging out (and taking more pictures!) before it was soon enough time to leave our summer home.  While we still have 8 months to wait until next Opening Day, this weekend was the perfect reminder of how much we love camp and love our camp friends.

Until June 25, 2016…
