What Camp Directors Do During The Year

Last week, Atlantic City played host to more than 3,000 camp professionals for the American Camp Association’s annual Tri-State Camp Conference.  Our Timber Lake Family of Camps was well-represented with more than 30 directors, head counselors and leadership staff members.

We attended classes and workshops on topics ranging from training our staff, coaching our campers, hiring the right team players and managing our facilities and programs. Jay Jacobs ran a wonderful session. In addition, Tyler Hill’s own Wendy Siegel ran a director’s panel alongside Mindy Jacobs, director of Timberlake, and two other prominent female camp directors.

We all came home energized, educated, inspired and full of amazing new ideas for the summer. We also bought some pretty cool things for camp — from new “toys” for the waterfront all the way to new food items on the menu. We can’t wait to share them all with you!!
