Getting Ready Back to Zone

Alyssa FlaumAlyssa Flaum: Girls Head Counselor
Alyssa first came to camp as the curious 10-month old of Steve & Karen Frank. She holds the record for being in Bunk 1 the longest- four consecutive years. The years have just flown by so quickly that she will be bringing her second child, Cooper to camp as a 10-month old. Cooper will be joined by his almost 3 year old big brother Aidan.

Alyssa has gone through the ranks in camp, going from General Counselor, G.L., Division Leader, Assistant H. C. and finally, Head Counselor. As you can see, Alyssa has experienced all of the stages that the girls at THC will be going through, and she can empathize completely. The fact that she is a Licensed School Social Worker adds to her ability to understand the camper mystique that much more.

What Alyssa also brings to camp is her love for children and her deep feelings for Tyler Hill. She is committed to helping all campers share these feelings, and to encourage them to make wonderful memories and long-lasting friendships of their own.

Ali SchulmanAli Schulman: Girls Assistant Head Counselor
Ali is what one may consider a “die-hard” camp person. Starting off in Bunk 5 in 1991, she has not yet missed a summer at Tyler Hill Camp. She has worked in almost every position possible at camp -- from a Junior Counselor to Group Leader to Division Leader for the oldest girls and now is in her third summer as the Assistant Head of Girls' Side. She truly believes that camp is a wonderful place for children to grow and learn, and that friendships made at camp are like no other. Anyone who grows up at camp knows that there is nothing like a “camp friend”. From June-August, you will see her all over camp making sure that both campers and staff are gaining the best experience camp has to offer.

While Tyler Hill is a major part of her life, she also makes time for another passion; her “real” job in the winter months as an Autism Special Education Teacher.

Tammy WeisenthalTammy Weisenthal: Freshmen Division Leader
Back for her 8th summer at Tyler Hill is Tammy Weisenthal. Tammy takes care of our youngest campers on girl’s side and always makes them feel right at home from day one.

Originally from Miami, Florida she began her career at Tyler Hill in 1996 as a General Counselor. After a four-year hiatus, during which she received a Masters from NYU in Early Education, Tammy decided to make THC her summer home for good. She loves working with the Freshman Girls and having the opportunity to see so many of them experience sleep-away camp for the first time. Throughout the summer, she provides the little ones with extra hugs, helps them build self-confidence and friendships, and she’s always a great shoulder to lean on.

Tammy also understands the importance of helping our newest parents adjust to having their children leave home for the first time and believes in the power of open communication, as she is a parent herself of Logan and Alex. She can’t wait for another great summer at THC!
