Special Events
Friendship, camp spirit, deep-rooted tradition and continuous excitement keep our campers coming back summer after summer. Weekly special events along with awesome day trips out of camp are all designed to keep everyone enthusiastic about camp -- not just every day of the summer, but year after year.

Every Wednesday at camp is uniquely programmed for our entire campus. After a well-deserved sleep-in and breakfast "in bed", campers are thrilled by a different full-camp event each week.

  • Carnival
  • Battle of the Boys vs. Girls
  • Olympics
  • Guiness Book of World Records Day
  • Wild and Wacky Water Day
  • THC Cook-offs
  • Big Sister-Little Sister
  • Big Brother-Little Brother
  • THC’s own WWF Chocolate Pudding Wrestling
  • All-Star Athletic Clinics (including visits from pro LAX players Mikey and Casey Powell, Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith and others)
  • Laser Tag
  • THC-hosted tournaments with other camps in our area (flag football, baseball and softball, tennis)

Every evening at camp is filled with a fun and exciting activity. Whether it's a Saturday night show under the spotlights of our Tyler Hill stage, a campfire with songs and stories, Friday night socials, outdoor relays, games or contests or a late-night league game on one of our many lighted courts, evening activities are among the best times at Tyler Hill. And then before bedtime, campers’ days are complete as they stop with friends at our THC Canteen, complete with snacks, coinless video games, ping pong, pool and air hockey.

One of the highlights of a summer at Tyler Hill is our all-camp, Blue vs. White, five-day Color War. Deeply rooted in THC tradition, the highly anticipated moment at which the two teams are announced is called BreakOut – and it often happens where and when our campers least expect it! Once Color War breaks, it's Blue vs. White for five straight days of competition -- and we compete in everything from spirit to sports to sportsmanship to trivia events! Color War ends as our two teams bury the hatchet with an incredible night of costumes, songs, skits and dances. Color war will be the most talked-about event of the summer as your child returns home to you and recounts his or her summer highlights.
